Whirligig and Fair Game

Here are two paintings using different techniques that I finished in the fall of 2015. Whirligig, the dark one, was created with pouring medium. Fair game is unavailable.

Spring Art 2015

 This is a piece I have  been working on for some time. I wanted to paint a simple abstract in a more linear motif than I am used to doing.It does have some bronze metallic that is hard to photograph. I get a southwest feel from it.

 Here is a piece I did for the Kaleidoscope show. It has silver metallic in it and I painted angles and lines as I was trying to replicate a kaleidoscopic effect.It is called Interstellar.

 Here are my first two pieces using pouring medium. I love working with it and will do more. What do you think? and which of my new pieces do you prefer? This one is called Twist and Shout.

Welcome to Mariposa. It is really turquoise not blue. There is texture in parts of it and metallic grey. This sold in early August to Lorna.

Markhaven Mural Project

Here are the two murals that the MGA was commissioned to do for Markhaven in Markham. My piece is at the top right hand corner of the mural on the right. This is the second mural that we have done. The first one is hanging in the Cornell Library.

MGA Fall Show Little Treasures 2013

Here are two of my latest paintings finished in the late summer early fall 2013.
The first painting is completely acrylic with a limited palette of black/white/mauve/silver. I called this one Shangri-La. Does it give you any emotion? of what? let me know.

The turquoise/blue/gold one actually has some hints of rose in it as well. It is covered in resin as taught to me by Marilyn McKay of the MGA. That is why the flash shines on the surface somewhat. I called it Blue Lagoon. It came second at the Markham Fair this fall. I should have called it Turquoise Lagoon:) There is no brown in this painting. The bottom is dark navy blue. Picasa Photo program isn't that perfect at  reproducing colours accurately. You are really seeing the colours of the chair the painting is rested upon reflected off of the resin finish.Both paintings are much better (IMHO) in real life as you are not seeing the gold and silver accents on the computer screen.
